Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher has landed himself a brand new job with Sky Sports as they expand their Premier League coverage for the 2025/26 season. The English top-flight makes its return to our screens on Friday with the Reds hosting AFC Bournemouth at Anfield.
All Premier League clubs will be back in action across the weekend with the Super Sunday line-up now consisting of three matches - instead of the previously accustomed two. Chelsea vs Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest vs Brentford will both kick-off at 2pm before Manchester United vs Arsenal at 4.30pm.
On matchdays when four or more simultaneous games are played, on a Sunday, Carragher will begin his new role presenting 'Extra Time' to analyse all of the day's action.
This scenario is likely to present itself later in the season - when European competitions move into full swing and matches are moved to allow teams further rests.
On these matchdays with four or more games playing, simultaneously, Sky Sports will launch a 'Multiview' option that will switch between the games to showcase the best action as it happens from around the grounds.
While Carragher has landed this new role on 'Extra Time', he will remain in place as a pundit for matches alongside the likes of Gary Neville, Micah Richards, Roy Keane and Daniel Sturridge.
Another new recruit has also been announced for Sky's coverage of the Premier League this season.
New Match of the Day presenter Mark Chapman will join the team to cover matches live.
He joins his new MOTD colleague Kelly Cates and David Jones on Sky Sports' live Premier League coverage.
Chapman has been fronting Sky Sports' Carabao Cup coverage in recent years.
Along with his duties on Sky Sports, Carragher is expected to continue in his role for CBS Sports in covering the Champions League along with Kate Scott, Thierry Henry and his Sky Sports colleague Richards.
