Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed how much Tottenham Hotspur would have to pay to land Harvey Elliott, but he suggested that the Lilywhites may not be frontrunners for the Liverpool star.
The big question on the mind of Tottenham fans is which attacking midfielder Spurs will turn to after James Maddison’s injury blow.
Over recent weeks, no player has been more heavily linked with a move to Tottenham than Harvey Elliott, who is thought to be keen on leaving Anfield in search of regular game time next season.
However, it was reported by The Times over the weekend that Spurs have decided to call off a move for Elliott after holding initial talks with Liverpool.

How much would Liverpool charge Tottenham for Harvey Elliott?
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has now claimed that the Reds would reluctantly let the attacking midfielder leave for £50m this summer.
He confirmed that the 22-year-old is one of the names on Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist, but revealed that the Lilywhites are no longer frontrunners for the player.
O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Reluctantly, Liverpool would consider letting Elliott go for the right fee. There’s been talk of £40million plus a buy-back clause, or a £50million fee without a buy-back clause.

“RB Leipzig seem to be the ones leading the chase for Elliott right now, and they’ve opened talks with Liverpool to discuss a potential deal for the 22-year-old.
“If Tottenham are in the market for attacking midfielders, Harvey Elliott would be somebody who would figure high up their list. It could be an astute signing if they were to get him, but it does seem that other clubs are further advanced in the pursuit of Elliott, rather than Spurs.”
Elliott is in talks over a move abroad
A few days ago, Spurs Web relayed a report from The Mirror, which claimed that RB Leipzig are pushing forward with talks over a deal for Elliott as Tottenham continue to assess their options.
The one advantage the German club have is that Jurgen Klopp is currently Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, and the former Liverpool boss has a relationship with the 22-year-old from their time together at Anfield.
It has been suggested by some sources over recent days that Tottenham could turn to Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannous, but the Lilywhites will have to battle several Premier League rivals for the Moroccan.
