Huge development in Middlesbrough link to Leeds United star

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made a lot of decisions in the first week of the club’s training camp. It was there where most players learnt their fates ahead of the upcoming season.

When Patrick Bamford was absent from the travelling squad, many were confused. That was when Farke revealed that the 31-year old was not in his plans for the Premier League. When asked again over a week later, the Leeds boss maintained his stance. Farke also added that the club were in the market to sign a new striker.

“Neither of them is in my plans right now [but I] cannot predict a move before the window closes.

“Not too much about numbers. Many strikers do not help you because you only play with one. It’s clear, in all offensive roles, we need reinforcements.”

Bamford had been linked to a number of clubs this summer, including Leicester City, Wrexham and Middlesbrough.

Now, it has been revealed that Middlesbrough have no plans of signing the 31-year old this summer. This is from the Northern Echo, who have said that Bamford will not be joining the Championship club. The recruitment team have no interest in him, and the prospect of signing him has not been discussed.

Joel Piroe ready for competition this season

Piroe has been doubted by many fans and pundits this season. His ability has been questioned heading into this campaign. Despite his spectacular goal record in the Championship, some have doubts that they will translate to the top flight.

After a successful pre-season, where Joel Piroe has bagged many goals, the striker insists he is ready for the Premier League challenge.

“I have said it before as well, you know, in the Premier League at big clubs or wherever you are, you always face competition. So, if it is a new signing or one from the academy who comes up, there will always be a battle for the place and you have just got to influence what you can influence yourself.

“For me, it means playing well, keep scoring goals and that is how I try and want to earn or keep my spot. Everyone is fighting for their spot.”

Who will Leeds sign later this month?

Ben Jacobs has reported that Rodrigo Muniz is the main target. But as of Tuesday morning, Atalanta have taken the lead and are pushing to agree a fee with Fulham.

The Italian side want to seal a deal for the striker soon. Leeds could find their major target off the table if they do not act fast.
