“Showing Shae The Ropes”: Trevor Lawrence’s Wife Marissa Shares Heartfelt Note During…

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to have a comeback season in 2025, as he aims to make up for a challenging 2024 season. But this time, Lawrence will have one more supporter.

In a post on Instagram, Marrisa Lawrence, wife of NFL star Trevor Lawrence, showed off the newest big supporter of the NFL star: their daughter, Shae. In her post, Lawrence showed how proud she is of Shae as she gets all dressed up for her first-ever NFL game.

“Showing Shae the ropes🐆💙,” Marissa wrote in her post.

Trevor Lawrence and his wife, Marissa, have a love and support for one another that comes from their family life being intertwined with the demands of NFL stardom. The couple married in 2021 and they introduced their first child, Shae, to the world in January of 2025. The couple has enjoyed the challenges of parenting together, while Trevor established his career with the Jacksonville franchise.

Marissa is known for frequently sharing gameday moments and behind-the-scenes glimpses on social media, often cheering Trevor on in custom outfits that feature his jersey number.

NFL Head Coach Blasts Trevor Lawrence: “There is Nothing Elite About Him”

Trevor Lawrence’s standing among NFL decision-makers took a hit in Mike Sando’s annual quarterback tiers, viaThe Athletic, where the Jacksonville Jaguars passer landed 18th overall in Tier 3, drawing unusually sharp reviews.

One defensive coach questioned Lawrence’s threat level, saying he routinely misses designed deep shots and doesn’t present an element that truly worries defenses, while wondering how much is on scheme versus the quarterback’s own limitations. The broader critique: nothing about his game, at this stage, feels definitively elite.

Meanwhile, another league coach saw the early potential of Larnece, but was honest that they did not see that potential translate on the field.

“I always thought Lawrence was a unique talent from a body-type standpoint—so athletic for a guy that tall—and the way he played at Clemson was outstanding,” the coach told Sando. “But when I watched him this year (2024), the instinct wasn’t as high there. He looked hesitant. He had some ugly tape.”

Even some who admire Lawrence’s tools and Clemson pedigree saw a troubling 2024. A head coach said the 25-year-old looked hesitant and less instinctive, producing some rough tape during an injury-shortened season in which he played 10 games and posted 2,045 passing yards with 11 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 60.6% completion rate.

Over the past two years, Jacksonville has gone 10–16 with him under center, fueling the perception of regression after early-career promise. Trevor Lawrence has maintained he’s fully healthy entering 2025, setting the stage for a pivotal reset campaign.
