Liverpool have already undergone a lot of changes this summer despite winning the Premier League last season.
The Reds were one of the most dominant sides in England up until the last few weeks of last season, and with the additions they’ve already made, such as Hugo Ekitike, their starting XI feels much stronger.
However, since a lot of the Reds’ second-string players, such as Jarell Quansah, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, have all been sold on, there isn’t enough quality on the bench for a team trying to win everything.

Indeed, players such as Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa are still Liverpool players, but with the rumours emerging about Elliott’s future and Chiesa’s confidence likely to be at an all-time low, there are still plenty of questions to be answered.
Arne Slot is happier with his team this season than he was with his Premier League-winning side
As mentioned, there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered about Liverpool’s future.
There are still over two weeks of the transfer window left, and with the Reds’ transfer kitty still likely to be full, there’s room for players to be added.
However, while talking to Sports Mole, journalist David Lynch revealed that Slot is actually happier with his team this season than he was with his Premier League-winning team last term.
“There has to be more rotation this season, I mean that’s something I spoke about with people behind the scenes at Liverpool,” he said.

“There is an expectation that will happen, that the manager is happier with this squad and that the flexibility of some players is going to lend itself more to rotation.”
Liverpool have some big decisions to make over the coming weeks
As mentioned, there are still over two weeks left in the transfer window, which gives Liverpool plenty of time to make even more changes to their first-team squad.
Alexander Isak has now refused to play for Newcastle ever again, and the Reds’ moves for Giovanni Leoni and Marc Guehi have both stepped up over the last few days.
The addition of one or even two of these players would make a massive difference to the way things could end up panning out for Liverpool this summer.

However, unless Slot manages to act quickly, they could be left in a bit of a pickle, especially if the likes of Elliott and Ben Doak are sold before the window closes.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store, but at the moment, it feels like a rather exciting time to be a Liverpool fan, even if their squad depth is somewhat weak at the moment.
