Sky Sports - Leeds target Muniz tells Fulham the club he wants to join after €50m demand

Fulham have rejected a €40 million bid from Atalanta for Leeds United target Rodrigo Muniz, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke wants a new striker at the Elland Road club after telling Patrick Bamford to leave, and the Brazilian has emerged as his target.

Fulham want €50m for his services, but the Whites may need to look elsewhere even if they can afford to meet their demands.

Muniz is determined to join Atalanta and has told the Craven Cottage club of his transfer desire.

Journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs claimed on Monday that Muniz remains the Leeds’ top striker target and they have not given up.

Rodrigo Muniz is still Leeds’ top striker target. No agreement with Fulham yet, but Leeds haven’t given up hope.

Understand Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another name discussed in case Muniz isn’t possible.⚪️

Former Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another name the West Yorkshire club have discussed if signing Muniz does not work.

They may now need to go for the Englishman if the claim from Tavolieri this afternoon is anything to go by.

Leeds want Premier League quality as they look to recruit a quality number 9, and the Fulham star has proven himself.

Sadly for them, it appears a move to where Champions League football is available appeals more to him, and Leeds have been here before.

Brazilian winger Igor Paixao also opted to join Marseille ahead of the Whites from Feyenoord due to the opportunity to play in the elite European competition at the Ligue 1 club.

Leeds had received emails from the Eredivisie club and the representatives of the attacker which suggested that respective terms had been agreed.

However, he opted for Marseille and Muniz is now expected to turn them down for the same reason.
