Leeds United take on Everton in their opening Premier League fixture, and they should be confident in their ability to get something from the game.
Daniel Farke has bought well in the transfer window, and his side has held their own in pre-season friendlies against European giants like AC Milan and Villarreal. Both matches finished 1-1.
Everton have spent more than Leeds this summer, but their pre-season results suggest Leeds have nothing to fear when David Moyes’ side visit Elland Road on Monday.

Everton pre-season results ring alarm bells for David Moyes
Everton began their pre-season campaign with a dull and disappointing 1-0 defeat away at Blackburn Rovers.
They jetted off to the United States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series tournament, losing their first games 3-0 to Bournemouth and then 2-1 to West Ham. They picked up a credible 2-2 draw with Manchester United to round off the tournament.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
During an interview in the United States, Moyes admitted that he was “desperate” for summer signings. They have Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea since then, but the Toffees still look several players short of being able to challenge for a spot in the top half of the league.
They rounded off their run of friendlies with a 1-0 defeat at home to AS Roma.

Leeds should be confident of beating Everton in Premier League opener
It goes without saying that Everton are a huge club with a decorated history.
They have never been relegated from the Premier League, and there will be no danger of that happening this season either.
However, they only finished 13th last season, scoring a measly 42 league goals. There has been little evidence this summer that the team is ready to improve on that.
They’ve signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal to try and address their scoring problem. The signing of Dewsbury-Hall is also a tidy one – while Jack Grealish’s best days appear to be behind him.
Yet, Everton still look like a bottom-half Premier League club with mid-table ambitions.

Leeds have failed to win any of their last five Premier League games against Everton
If they’re to stand any chance of surviving, Leeds must look to win their home games against these types of teams.
Moyes’ side doesn’t have the firepower to blow Leeds away with three or four goals. In fact, one or two for Leeds will likely be enough to win the game.
