Michail Antonio is retaining hope of playing against West Ham one day.

Antonio, who scored 83 goals for the Hammers, has no plans of retiring any time soon.

The Jamaican striker says he has fully recovered from his broken leg and is looking forward to joining another club in England.

Antonio reveals details on future after being spotted at Leeds training ground

Antonio has already had offers to sign for a new team, but is biding his time and waiting for the best offer.

In an interview with Four Four Two, he said he had received offers to play abroad, but would prefer to remain in England.

He said: “I’m still going to play. I’m speaking to a few clubs right now, I’m just kind of waiting for the right offer to come and move forward from there.”

Antonio was spotted at Leeds United’s training ground earlier this summer, as well as the headquarters of Oxford United and Ipswich Town, but he insists that this wasn’t to discuss a playing contract.

Instead, these were for meetings related to his new sports supplements company.

Antonio has also secured some pundit work for TNT Sports.

West Ham still look short of firepower as new Premier League season approaches

West Ham have parted ways with Antonio and Danny Ings this summer. They’ve also sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham.

That’s a lot of firepower to lose for a team that only scored 46 Premier League goals last season.

They’ve signed Callum Wilson on a free transfer, but no other players with a real goalscoring threat have followed him.

Wilson’s fitness record is a concern for some fans as well.

Antonio hosts The Footballer’s Football podcast alongside Wilson.

He revealed that his co-host asked for his permission to take West Ham’s number nine shirt, and that he fully backed his replacement to make an impact at The London Stadium.

Antonio also called on West Ham fans to give their backing to Wilson, even after the previous comments he made about their UEFA Conference League win.

Despite this confident verdict from their former striking hero, Hammers fans would still feel more comfortable if another striker was signed before the transfer window closes.
