Former Premier League striker Robbie Fowler has made an interesting prediction about where he thinks Chelsea will finish in the upcoming season.
Chelsea secured fourth position in the Premier League on the final day of last season, and many people expect them to be much stronger in the 2025/26 campaign. In fairness, Enzo Maresca’s squad looks pretty formidable, especially after a busy summer transfer window.
It’s been claimed that Chelsea’s target is another top-four finish because the owners are understanding that the young group needs time to develop and gel.
Interestingly, Alan Shearer expects Chelsea to challenge for the Premier League following their summer success of winning the Club World Cup.

Robbie Fowler predicts Chelsea will finish second in the Premier League
Robbie Fowler has predicted that Chelsea will finish as runners-up in the new Premier League, which we are sure will frustrate the supporters of rival clubs.
Fowler told talkSPORT: “I think Chelsea were a good team last year, in all fairness. I think they’ve got great players. They’ve got a relatively young squad. They had that season last year with the culmination of winning the Club World Cup. I think everyone will be buoyed and buzzing around the place because of that. I think that will give them the confidence and rhythm to go into the season and get wins.”

Jamie Carragher’s prediction on Chelsea is that he can’t picture them finishing ahead of Liverpool, Arsenal or Man City in the new season. The reality is that they are the three clubs that Maresca’s side need to chase down, but it remains to be seen how much closer the gap is now.
We agree that the morale around Stamford Bridge will be high going into the new season because of winning the Club World Cup and Conference League, so they need to try use the momentum.

Chelsea can get off to rapid start
Last season, Chelsea did impress in the first few months. In fact, they sat second in the league table in mid-December after winning 10 of their opening 16 top-flight games.
If we look ahead to the start of the 2025/26 season, the Blues must target a healthy points return because they avoid any of the teams that finished above them last year.
On paper, Maresca’s team can build on a positive summer to make a rapid start in the new league season. Jody Morris was impressed by Chelsea during their short pre-season, so attention now turns towards Crystal Palace at home on Sunday afternoon.
