It sounds like Cam Thomas is going to stick with the Brooklyn Nets in the upcoming season, but he is already looking at where he could go after that.
According to all reports, Thomas wants a healthy contract with a team that desires to have him in the lineup for the long-term future.
According to NetsDaily, via NBACentral, Thomas is hoping for nearly $40 million a year and is comparing himself to three other stars in the league.
“One league source told NetsDaily where Thomas sees his market, using comparable players around the league: Jalen Green, making $33.3 million per year until 2027-28, when he has a $36 million player option…Immanuel Quickley, making $32.5 million over the next four years…Tyler Herro averaging $32 million over the next two years…That’s where he sees his market, if not higher, said the source…This suggests Thomas is searching for an annual salary starting at $30 million, likely closer to $40 million,” per Nets Daily.

Thomas thinks that he’s on the same level as Jalen Green, Immanuel Quickley, and Tyler Herro.
He may be, but that doesn’t mean that he will get the kind of contract that he desires.
Ever since rumors of him possibly leaving the Nets popped up, it hasn’t felt like any other team has jumped at the chance to sign him.
They may want him, but they don’t wish to spend an outrageous amount to get him.
Most inside reporting says that Thomas is going to ride 2025-26 out with the Nets, which will give him a whole season to improve his value and possibly earn a big contract when he does make the jump from Brooklyn.
Will this season be enough for Thomas to get the sort of deal that he yearns for?
