Jack Grealish looks set to complete his loan move to Everton shortly.

Grealish has already agreed terms to join David Moyes’ side for the 2025-26 campaign, as he looks to escape his Manchester City horror show.

The England star had a medical with Everton on Monday (11 August) after a deal was reached with the Citizens that will allow the 29-year-old to get his career back on track.

It is exactly the kind of signing that the Friedkin Group need to kick off the new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton move is great for all parties after £50m clause reveal

The deal to bring Grealish to Everton contains a £50million buy clause, rather than an obligation, which would have forced the Toffees to pay for him regardless of how he performed.

Darke believes that the move could be beneficial to all parties.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “I mean, I just think it’s a fantastic poster-boy signing for Everton, which sort of moves them on a little bit in their brand-new home, a statement signing.

“Yeah, he’s got things to prove. His career needs a lick of paint at this time, I would say, after a couple of seasons where he hasn’t had that much of a look-in at Manchester City.

“I think it’s a great move for everybody concerned, including Manchester City, by the way.”

Everton are in a win-win situation with Grealish clause

The Blues are in a win-win situation with the clause that has been inserted into the deal.

If he revives his career and performs to the level that is expected, then they can trigger it and sign him permanently, and he could become a hero in L4.

Grealish notched 15 goals and 17 assists in the top-flight for Aston Villa in 96 appearances

Moved to City for £100million in 2021

Scored 11 and assisted 12 for City in the league in 94 appearances

However, if he struggles, then they are not forced to shell out a huge sum and keep a player that they do not want.

It remains to be seen how he performs on Merseyside, but it is an exciting signing that should get people on the edge of their seats.
