Benjamin Sesko was put to the ‘test’ only minutes after the former RB Leipzig striker took to the training pitch for the first time as a Manchester United player.
The 22-year-old Slovenian forward snubbed the opportunity to sign for Premier League side Newcastle and instead completed a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Benjamin Sesko emerged on Manchester United’s radar in recent weeks and the Red Devils wasted no time hijacking the Magpies’ pursuit of the ex-RB Leipzig ace.
United announced the signing of Sesko on Saturday and the Slovenia international took to the Old Trafford pitch ahead of the friendly match against Fiorentina.
The Red Devils tabled their first – and only – offer for the former Newcastle target last week and Sesko had been keen for a move to the Premier League club.
United’s transfer of Sesko from Leipzig saw the Red Devils pay an initial fee of £66.3m this summer, with add-ons taking the combined package to £73.7m.

What happened between Benjamin Sesko and Diogo Dalot in the former RB Leipzig striker’s first Man Utd training session?
Ruben Amorim immediately had the chance to see Benjamin Sesko’s talents up close after the summer signing reported to Manchester United first-team training.
The 40-year-old United manager held his training session at the Carrington training complex only the day after the penalty shootout win over Serie A side Fiorentina.
United’s pre-season concluded with the Fiorentina match at Old Trafford and it remains unclear if Sesko will start the first Premier League tie of the new campaign.
The Red Devils shared photos of Sesko’s first United training session on Monday and Isaac Stacey Stronge produced a first-hand account of what he saw at Carrington.
Speaking in his piece for Manchester United’s official website, Isaac Stacey Stronge revealed that Diogo Dalot was “one of the first out” for Sunday’s training session.
He added that Sesko “followed shortly” and Diogo Dalot “wasted no time” by seizing the opportunity to interact with the Red Devils’ latest big-money summer signing.
Stronge witnessed Dalot “firing a pass” to the former RB Leipzig attacker and Sesko “passed with flying colours” with his touch during the “trial” test from the defender.

How did Benjamin Sesko interact with other Man Utd players in his training session at Carrington under Ruben Amorim?
Aside from his interaction with Portugal international Diogo Dalot, Sesko also showed United fans early shades of his link-up with different first-team players in training.
United manager Ruben Amorim held a training exercise that included mannequins and the ex-Sporting CP boss wanted to work on positional tactics with his players.
Isaac Stacey Stronge revealed that Sesko netted after the ‘build-up play’ in the session, with Diego Leon setting up the former RB Salzburg striker for the finish.
Sesko made an impact during the training session at Carrington by also becoming the ‘provider’ after he linked up with both Joshua Zirkzee and Toby Collyer.
