Liverpool’s offer for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni is looking like it will be more than enough, with the Reds appearing serious for the 18-year-old.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who provide the latest on Liverpool’s move for the Parma youngster.
Liverpool have been stepping up their pursuit of the defender over the last week as they look to continue their spending and find the centre-back that Arne Slot’s squad is currently lacking after the departure of Jarrel Quansah.
A report earlier today stated they could offer €40m to get Leoni this summer and Corriere suggest that would be enough.
The newspaper say that Liverpool are becoming involved in the various negotiations taking place for Leoni as the Serie A teams interested haven’t moved as yet.
Parma are believed to be asking for at least €30m plus €5m in bonuses to open up the deal for the defender. Therefore, Liverpool offering €40m would be more than welcome.
Corriere state that so far negotiations are yet to begin but Liverpool have shown significant interest in the centre-back, nonetheless.
That’s put them out in front, and it seems if they make an offer at the previously quoted prices, they may find it is quickly accepted.
