Manchester United has officially released all three official kits for the new campaign. The home shirt and away shirt were both released earlier this summer, and the black third kit was released this morning with a kung fu-themed throwback.
And once you see it, you’ll understand why.
You might recognize that design from a famous moment in United lore…
Maybe Cantona was a bit too busy to be a part of the shoot for this kit launch, or maybe the club didn’t want to directly associate itself with the once controversial incident.
Either way, the throwback intention is there, as it has been for at least one kit launch each year for the past few years. Most home shirts from the last five years are an homage to past shirts in some way, whether it be something small like a shield around the badge, a small sliver on the sleeve, a collar, or even the entire kit itself.
Now that all three shirts for the 2025/26 season are out there, which one is your favorite?
Do you like the throwbacks? Are they getting old?
