Aston Villa icon Jack Grealish has signed for Everton on a season long loan from Manchester City.
The deal has been confirmed after Grealish, who was not included in City’s 27-man squad for this summer’s Club World Cup in the United States, underwent a medical with the Merseysiders on Monday.
The 29-year-old, who reportedly earns £300,000-per-week at the Etihad, joined City from Aston Villa for a then-record British transfer fee of £100m in August 2021.
Grealish made his last appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side as a late substitute in the 3-1 home win against Bournemouth in their penultimate league game last season.
He had dropped down the pecking order under Guardiola, making just seven league starts in total last season, and was an unused substitute in the final defeat to Crystal Palace.
Sky Sports deal
Sky has slashed the price of its bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games next season, an increase of up to 100 more.
A Manchester City statement said: " has joined Everton on a season-long loan deal.
"Grealish heads to the Toffees for the 2025/26 campaign having made 157 appearances for City, scoring 17 goals across four seasons with the Club.
"The winger arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Aston Villa in August 2021 having come through the ranks to eventually skipper the Villans to promotion back to the top-flight after three seasons away. His debut campaign in sky blue saw him realise a boyhood dream as he earned his first Premier League medal before being an integral part of the Treble-winning squad the following season in 2022/23.
"Grealish started both the FA Cup win over Manchester United and Champions League victory over Inter as the Blues made history.
"Triumphs in the UEFA Super Cup, where Grealish scored his spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out as well as the FIFA Club World Cup followed as City held the ‘Big Five’ trophies at the same time.
"Grealish helped the Blues claim a record-breaking fourth Premier League title in a row in 2023/24 but struggled with injuries as Pep Guardiola’s men experienced a more difficult campaign this past season.
"In total, Grealish has won three Premier Leagues, one FA Cup, one , one FIFA Club World Cup and one UEFA Super Cup during his time in Manchester.
"Everyone at Manchester City wishes Jack the very best of luck during his time at Everton."
Everton launch the new campaign at newly-promoted Leeds next Monday before playing their first Premier League game at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium against Brighton on August 24.
The Toffees signed midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea for a fee of around £28m last week and Grealish becomes the Merseysiders’ sixth summer signing following the previous arrivals of Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou.
