Bayer Leverkusen have previously been linked to signing several Manchester United players since Erik Ten Hag joined them earlier in the summer.
However, Amorim has now had a transfer window to bring in players that suit his style of play, and with additions such as Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, you would have to assume that things can only get better.
As far as Ten Hag is concerned, he landed the Bayer Leverkusen job after Xabi Alonso left for Real Madrid, and has since been linked with signing several of his former players that he coached at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag wants Lindelof
It now seems that the Dutch manager is targeting a move for former United player Victor Lindelof, who became a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford expired following a 10-year spell, which saw the Swedish defender make over 280 appearances.
According to Sky Germany Journalist Florian Plettenberg on X, Ten Hag himself is very keen to bring Lindelof in because of his experience and leadership. Plettenberg said: “Victor Lindelof is being discussed at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. They value his experience and leadership qualities. The 31 y/o centre-back is a free agent. Erik ten Hag knows him very well.”

Leverkusen are the first club to be seriously credited with concrete interest in Lindelof since he left United at the end of last campaign, and could bag themselves an experienced defender for a bargain price.
Fellow Man United defender could leave on loan
As Lindelof left at the end of the season, he joined Jonny Evans, who also left the club as a player. He is now working as head of loans at the club. Speaking of loans, United could see young defender Harry Amass leave this summer on a loan deal, as there has been reported offers from the Championship.
Last year, the young Englishman made just 10 appearances in all competitions for Man United’s first team, producing one assist in the Carabao Cup. A loan move would seriously help his development, but joining a very unstable club like Sheffield Wednesday could be a risk.
It hasn’t been reported whether any more clubs are considering a move to sign Amass this summer, so the talks with Wednesday could accelerate if nobody else can tempt the 18-year-old with a move.
