Liverpool’s 2025 pre-season tour was a mix of long flights, fresh faces, and plenty of goals. Across seven games, the Reds scored 22 times and shared the creative load, with several players stepping up before the Premier League kicks off.
Pre-season is rarely about points. It’s about sharpness, rhythm, and maybe a bit of showboating for the travelling fans.
This summer, Arne Slot’s men played in England, Hong Kong, and Japan, facing a range of opponents from Preston to AC Milan.
And while the results were mostly positive — five wins, a draw, and one defeat — the bigger talking point was who did the business in front of goal.
The top of the chart was a surprise: Darwin Nunez led with five goals, though he has since moved on to Al-Hilal.
Close behind was Cody Gakpo, who looked sharp with four goals and an assist, showing he’s ready to carry some of the scoring load this season.
Teenage winger Rio Ngumoha also made a name for himself with three goals and two assists — not bad for someone who probably still gets ID’d at the cinema.

Creative spark in midfield
In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones proved that assists can be just as valuable as goals. Both registered three, with Szoboszlai also finding the net once.
Florian Wirtz and Ngumoha chipped in with two assists each, while several others — including Ibrahima Konate from center-back — added their names to the list.
