English U-21 footballer, Ethan Nwaneri, has agreed to sign a new five-year deal contract with his parent club Arsenal. By succeeding in extending the contract of Nwaneri, Arsenal have sent a clear message that the club will also keep players who are fit for their project. The Gunners were repeatedly talking with the player’s agent for months. Finally, Arsenal have officially announced the extension of their star prodigy, Ethan Nwaneri. With this deal, Ethan Nwaneri becomes the youngest footballer in the English Premier League to pen a five-year contract extension. Arsenal fans already have big expectations for their youngster in the coming years.
Ethan Nwaneri Has a Bright Future Ahead of Him
In these last couple of years, the English football has produced some of the best talents in world football. Young and talented English footballers like Liam Delap, Harvey Elliot, Cole Palmer and many others are already making their marks on the field. Meanwhile, Arsenal also have introduced two new faces last season. Lewis-Skelly saw the opportunity and has already cemented his place in the main roster. In case of Ethan Nwaneri, he will be eyeing this season to do to same as his colleague. The teenager is a pure academy product of Arsenal. He first arrived at the club back in 2015 and since then he has gradually improved his game to reach the top. In 39 senior appearances last season, Ethan Nwaneri has already registered 9 goals. Among those 9 goals, Nwaneri scored twice in the UEFA Champions League. The winger is quite comfortable on both wings and often operates as an attacking midfielder as well. The player already holds some fine individual records. He is the third English footballer after Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney to score three goals in the EPL before turning 18. Also, Ethan Nwaneri has become the youngest footballer ever to play for the club in the English Premier League. But, new sensation Max Dowman might match the record this year if Mikel Arteta gives Dowman his first ever EPL debut this season. After signing the contract, Ethan Nwaneri addressed the press about his feelings.“It means everything to me, I’m so happy to have got it done. This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best. I’m ready.” – expressed Nwaneri to the reporters.
Arsenal Have Pending Contract Extensions
Arsenal have bought six fantastic footballers including Viktor Gyokeres. The club are ready to release some names before the start of the season. After securing Ethan Nwaneri, Arsenal need to offer contract extensions to some existing footballers, too. Among those expected names, French defender William Saliba’s name is surely in the list. It is an open secret that Real Madrid want Saliba in their team. Amid this situation, Arsenal club officials do not want to delay any further in extending their main defender. Although, the Frenchman has two more years left in his current contract. According to the latest updates regarding the future of William Saliba, the player has reportedly ensured that he would sign the new contract very soon. But fans won’t get relieved until an official announcement comes from the club’s end. Other than Saliba, Arsenal will surely offer a new contract to their poster boy. Arsenal right winger, Bukayo Saka, still has two more years in his contract same as Saliba. Still, Arsenal want to close the chapter without any delay. There is no doubt that the wage demands will get higher this time but the Gunners are determined to keep Saka at any cost. Other than these two prominent players, Arsenal don’t have any hurry to extend any other players. Having said that, the future of Leandro Trossard still remains uncertain.
From the Author’s End
This Arsenal team has a solid balance in their squad this season. Arteta has carefully stirred the mixture of senior and junior footballers. Players like Norgaard and Zubimendi have bolstered the depth in the central zone. The club finally has a genuine box striker in their frontline. Arsenal fans expect a great deal of crosses into the opposition’s box from both flanks. Overall, Arsenal will leave absolutely no stone unturned to clinch their elusive EPL title. Arsenal will collide with Manchester United on 17th August. The fans can’t wait to see the new duel between Gyokeres and Sesko.
