Lions Defender Sends Warning To Dolphins Ahead Of Joint Practice

The Detroit Lions are ready to roll.

They’re a team that’s coached hard, and they don’t take any play or drill off, not even in training camp.

That’s why linebacker Grant Stuard wanted to give the Miami Dolphins a bit of a warning heading into their joint practice.

“I don’t know if they’re ready, I’m gonna keep it a stack … joint practiced against that team twice when I was in Tampa. I don’t know if they practice how we practice (via Detroit Sports Podcast),” Stuard said, via FinsXtra.

Joint practices can be very useful, but they can also be a major headache.

They can help teams fine-tune things and get into game shape ahead of the season, but more often than not, they devolve into scuffles and fights, and sometimes even lead to injuries.

The Lions are entering this season with a huge chip on their shoulders after their disappointing postseason loss to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

As such, Detroit will look to make a statement from the second they hit the field, and everybody knows head coach Dan Campbell won’t lower the intensity.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, may not bring the same mentality under head coach Mike McDaniel, but they also have a lot at stake this season.

McDaniel could be coaching for his job, as the team has yet to find any sort of postseason success in his three seasons.

It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with these joint practices, but hopefully, both teams will keep it civil and friendly.
