Rodrigo Muniz is the striker Leeds United have been most strongly linked with throughout the summer, but Atalanta’s efforts to bring him in are intensifying.
Lucas Perri being the most recent arrival at Elland Road is a cause for concern with the Premier League campaign kicking off in a matter of days.
Attackers simply have to be signed very soon if Daniel Farke wants to stand any chance of getting off to a good start in the division above.

Leeds United remain interested in signing Fulham star striker Rodrigo Muniz
The striker dominating United’s online discourse is Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, having scored 17 in his last two Premier League campaigns and someone the 49ers believe they can persuade to move up to West Yorkshire.
Ben Jacobs revealed that Muniz remains Leeds’ top target for the striker position and while there’s no agreement with the Cottagers, the club haven’t given up in their pursuit.

Leeds have previously seen a £32million offer turned down for the Brazilian back in June, indicating that their chances of securing an agreement with Fulham might hinge on United’s willingness to break their transfer record, currently held by Georginio Rutter’s £36million arrival in January 2023.
Atalanta pushing to secure Rodrigo Muniz agreement ahead of Leeds United – Gianluca Di Marzio
An issue for Leeds is that Serie A side Atalanta are seriously interested in bringing Muniz to Bergamo as a replacement for the £56million exit of Mateo Retegui.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Muniz is now pushing for an exit to the Italian side, with Atalanta themselves in ongoing discussions with Fulham.
Fulham’s stance remains quite stern on not letting Muniz go, amidst links to possible replacements across Europe, but with the 24-year-old open to an exit, their hand could be forced.
Sacha Tavolieri has added further insight, revealing that Atalanta have seen a €40million (£34.5million) bid rejected by Fulham, who are holding out for €50million (£43.1million), while also sharing that Muniz has told his current club of his wishes to make the move.

Where Leeds are concerned, Sky Sports share that Leeds aren’t giving up on the pursuit and have remained patient in waiting for the opportunity to sign the Brazilian, but the figures being talked about surely make this an unlikely deal for the 49ers to find success in.
Leeds United to miss out on Rodrigo Muniz too?
The ongoing optimism around Muniz does give you hope that he might be the signing Leeds make, but with Atalanta pushing, is it feasible?
They clearly have more money than us to spend on a striker and that is a worry, on top of the fact that Atalanta have Champions League football to offer Muniz.
Leeds’ ongoing lack of definitive progress on these signings is becoming really alarming, and the track record of late showings in previous windows is certainly getting put to the test this month too.
