Report: What Chelsea will do with Nicolas Jackson if he does not leave Stamford Bridge this summer

Chelsea are currently planning on parting ways with one of their attackers this summer, however are running out of time in this transfer window.

Nicolas Jackson is being strongly linked with a move away from the club, after the Blues have begun to address the goalscoring woes suffered in the last two seasons.

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap are competing for the striker position at Stamford Bridge, with both finding their shooting boots in pre-season.

Jackson was nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad for either friendly against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, with a host of other sides interested in signing him.

However, the transfer window is coming towards its final days. Clubs will no longer be able to complete signings after September 1.

There is still a chance no club comes in for the Senegal international, especially with the current asking price Chelsea have set for the striker.

The Blues want at least £60m for Jackson, however they seem calm with the prospect that he may not move on.

According to The Athletic, Jackson will be brought back into the first team setup if he does not leave, with him having the chance to compete for minutes again with his peers.

Fabrizio Romano has predicted Jackson will leave, however with the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres moving clubs this summer, the list of potential suitors is running low.

Newcastle looking at Jackson

Newcastle United have been linked with Jackson, after missing out on a number of their top targets in the attacking area this summer.

They are only likely to bring in a new striker if Alexander Isak leaves though, with there very little clarity right now over where he will be playing his football next season.

Chelsea are by no means desperate to sell the former Villarreal striker, however do need to make more money in transfer fees if they are to continue to make signings before the deadline.

Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are still being targeted, with Christopher Nkunku another attacking option from last season who could be sacrificed.
