Although it appears that Everton’s transfer window is running smoothly, not every desired target will join.
With just under a week until the Premier League kicks off for Everton, this week looks to be one of the most pivotal ones of the summer.
Jack Grealish’s arrival is obviously what’s kicking it off for the Toffees, as David Moyes has landed a statement signing.
Although an expensive one, the Scotsman will be pleased to have names such as the 29-year-old in his squad, as Grealish could make his debut vs Leeds United.
A chance to go for another big-name target looked firmly on, but now it could be completely off the table for the Toffees.

Everton target Douglas Luiz might now stay at Juventus after impressing manager Igor Tudor
For most of this summer window, the Blues have been looking into a move for Douglas Luiz.
The former Aston Villa midfielder has been out of sorts with Juventus, and could be seeking a move back to the English top flight.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Everton have been keen on Luiz, but in recent weeks, interest seems to have died down in the midfielder.
With many clubs interested, what Juve boss Igor Tudor has said to GOAL doesn’t bode well for Moyes and other suitors.
“Douglas, in Yildiz’s role, sees the goal and has goals in his blood. If I had to choose this system, I’d see him there rather than in front of the defense,” Tudor said.
“I see him there; he can score. The transfer market? I’m working with the players I have available. He came in well, then we’ll see what happens.”
Tudor is clearly happy with the Brazilian in this new role, but the Toffees might not need the 27-year-old after all.

Everton no longer need Douglas Luiz after Jack Grealish signing
Two former Villa stars have played a big part in the window, but it appears that Grealish’s signing means there is no room for the Juventus star.
Even if he did still leave now, Moyes is likely to play Grealish in that number ten role, and despite the Juve star shining in that position, the Scotsman knows other areas need to be prioritised.

Luiz would be an excellent addition for the Toffees in the Premier League, but it appears as though he’s back in favour with the Italian side.
Nottingham Forest could still sign Luiz, so the bets aren’t off for a return to England yet, but it seems as though Everton are finally out of the race.
