Chelsea transfer target Alejandro Garnacho has been caught on camera seemingly clutching a vape while getting a tattoo.

The exact nature of the device hasn't been verified, but the Manchester United winger has previously been photographed with an e-cigarette nearby. Back in 2023, the 21-year-old shared a post of himself watching a United match at home when supporters noticed a green vape pen on the table before him.

Garnacho quickly removed the Instagram story before reposting it minus the vape pen. It was then claimed the vape belonged to somebody else.

The Argentina international has now been photographed with what looks like a vape in his left hand whilst receiving a tattoo. It spread rapidly across social media, sparking numerous reactions from supporters online.

One X user posted: "I'm a big fan of Garnacho but you can't have someone vaping." A second argued: "Garnacho doesn't help himself. What's he doing vaping?" And a third commented: "Don't let Chelsea see this, seriously," referencing the fact the west Londoners have been linked with him throughout the window.

The winger - who has reportedly agreed personal terms on a switch to Stamford Bridge - was informed his United career was finished in May as Ruben Amorim told him he needed to secure a new club.

Having joined Old Trafford in 2020, he made his first-team bow under Erik ten Hag in 2022. He has subsequently notched up 144 appearances for the club, contributing 26 goals and 22 assists during that period.

Although he was initially reported to be priced at £70million by United, Chelsea are understood to be pursuing a deal closer to £50m. Garnacho has three years left on his deal at Old Trafford but is currently training separately to the rest of the senior squad.

Despite the youngster's evident quality, Amorim hinted at why he believes the forward is considering a move away from Manchester. Earlier this summer, the Portuguese manager said: "I think with Garnacho, you can understand and you can see that he's talented, he's a really talented boy.

Manchester United's Portuguese head coach Ruben Amorim (L) gives indications to Manchester United's Argentinian midfielder #17 Alejandro Garnacho during the English Premier League football match between Ipswich Town and Manchester United at Portman Road in Ipswich, eastern England on November 24, 2024.

"But sometimes things don't work out and you cannot explain specifically what it is. But I have the feeling – and I think it's clear - that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership and I can understand that.

"So I don't think it's a problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy and you have the connection. Other times you want a new challenge. So we try to make everything OK for all parties. To the club, to the coach and to the player. It's a natural thing in football."

In the wake of Marcus Rashford's departure and the likely exits of Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho, Amorim has reshaped his attacking line-up with the acquisitions of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
