Arsenal and England star Bukayo Saka has donated more than 1,000 school uniforms to children across four schools in his hometown of Ealing, London, in a move aimed at easing the financial strain on local families during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The 23-year-old forward personally visited the schools last Thursday, handing out uniforms, signing autographs, and posing for photos with delighted pupils. Among the beneficiaries were his former primary school, Edward Betham Church of England Primary School, and Greenford High School, where he studied as a teenager.
Two other local schools also received uniforms, ensuring the gesture’s impact was felt widely across the community.

Saka’s deep connection to Ealing has long been recognised. In 2021, he was awarded the Freedom of the Borough following his standout performances for England at Euro 2020. Ealing Council leader Peter Mason, who nominated him for the honour, described him at the time as “someone who has, in the blink of an eye, progressed from playing on Brentside Fields to representing our nation at Wembley.”

Recent surveys show the cost of school uniforms in the UK can exceed £100 per child, placing added pressure on families.
Saka’s latest act of generosity follows a string of philanthropic efforts. He has previously funded 120 life-changing surgeries for children in Kano, Nigeria, his parents’ homeland and provided shelter for 26 families affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey earlier this year.
With the new school year approaching, Saka’s donation is expected to make a tangible difference for hundreds of families in Ealing, cementing his reputation as both a footballing talent and a role model off the pitch.
