Report: Wolves and Marseille 'among others' to present offers to £26m 'high-speed forward'

Wolves kick off their Premier League season against Manchester City this Saturday, and the club are still working away to get new players in.

Only three new players have come in so far, but many more have left.

Vitor Pereira is thought to be confident that more arrivals will be on the way, but the Portuguese will surely be frustrated that more deals haven’t been done so far.

He has been a great appointment so far. But he knows he needs better backing if he is to take the team onwards.

Fosun were said to have acknowledged the need for a rebuild at Wolves this summer. That hasn’t yet come to pass, and fan fury will be inevitable unless there’s a big push in the coming weeks.

And one player who’s been on Wolves’ radar is Amine Adli of Bayer Leverkusen.

Wolves were linked with Morocco international Adli a few weeks ago, but there has not really been any progression.

It was suggested that Wolves had made a concrete offer to sign Adli.

Then, word of interest from Marseille in Adli – who is valued at around £26 million by Leverkusen – arrived.

And it seems the French giants have acted on their interest, with Bild reporting that they have also put an offer to the player.

But Bild also hint that other clubs have made offers too, saying Wolves and Marseille are ‘among others’ to make proposals to Adli, who has been described by the official Bundesliga website as: “A high-speed forward comfortable flying down his natural left-hand side or cutting in off the opposite flank.”

It’s stated that Leverkusen will continue with purchasing players before making sales.

Wolves fans will fear Adli failure after Marc Pubill and Juanlu Sanchez

It is unclear how much Wolves’ bid for Adli is worth at this stage.

But many Wolves fans won’t feel too confident of a deal coming to fruition, because of two frustrating instances earlier this summer.

Goals – 23

Assists – 24

Wolves thought they’d signed Marc Pubill from Almeria, only to lose out to Atletico Madrid.

Wolves were also strongly linked with Juanlu Sanchez, with the club even reaching an agreement in principle with Sevilla for a transfer. But the Spaniard was holding out for Napoli.

With other clubs in the picture for Adli, Wolves could well have another battle on their hands – and with time running out in the transfer window, that is really not ideal.
