David de Gea had a heartwarming interaction with Bruno Fernandes' children after Manchester United's pre-season friendly against Fiorentina over the weekend.
The Reds drew 1-1 with the Serie A outfit at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon after Simon Sohm's eighth-minute opener was cancelled out by a Robin Gosens own-goal.
For De Gea, it was his first return to Old Trafford since he left United at the end of his contract in May 2023. The Spaniard spent 12 seasons with the Red Devils, making 545 appearances.
Prior to the game, De Gea was presented with a special plaque to commemorate his 12 years of service at United after signing from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
Additionally, it seemed as though there was plenty of love for the Spaniard from his former teammates, with Fernandes uploading a photo to Instagram on Monday night of De Gea with his two children.
After the photo was uploaded by Fernandes, De Gea shared the post to his Instagram story with two love heart emojis.
Writing on Instagram after his return to Old Trafford on Saturday, the 34-year-old said: "A magical moment for me and my family to come back to Old Trafford - my home
"From the bottom of my heart - I want to say thank you for the reception - for all the love you showed me today
"To the supporters who never stopped being with me throughout my time at this club
"Our paths may cross again, but for today..

After a successful debut season with Fiorentina last term, De Gea signed a new three-year deal with the Serie A outfit in May.
