New York Jets: Super Bowl Champion Eyes Week 1 Return

The New York Jets played against the Green Bay Packers for their first preseason game on Saturday and won 30-10. They will have joint practices with the New York Giants on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. After that, the Jets will wrap up their fourth week of training camp by playing against the Giants for their second preseason game on Saturday.

The team is not close to full health with many players sidelined, including a veteran offensive player.

Tyrod Taylor suffered a knee injury on Sunday, August 3, which was the last time he practiced. Since then, he’s missed the past week of training camp, the first preseason game, and the start of Week 4. Many fans are concerned because Taylor is a reliable backup quarterback who has way more experience than the other two backups on the roster, Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Aaron Glenn provided an injury update on Tyrod Taylor, as reported by Adam Schefter. The Super Bowl champion underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss the remainder of training camp and the preseason. The good news is that the Jets hope Taylor will be ready for the start of the regular season and return to being Justin Fields’s backup.
