Moises Caicedo makes claim about 2025/26 season which will terrify Chelsea’s Premier League rivals

Moises Caicedo was arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League last season as he went on to help a very young Chelsea team qualify for the Champions League.

The 23-year-old also played a huge role in the Blues’ Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs.

It was Caicedo who scored Chelsea‘s fourth goal in their 4-1 win against Real Betis in the Conference League final.

Since then, Caicedo has been described as “amazing” by Pellegrino Matarazzo, the former manager of Hoffenheim and Stuttgart, but the Ecuadorian has no plans to rest on his laurels.

Moises Caicedo claims he has no limits

While Caicedo was easily one of the top-performing footballers in the Premier League last season, the former Brighton & Hove Albion man still wants to improve.

According to the player himself, he has no limits and is now planning to go up another gear in the new campaign, which should worry Chelsea’s rivals.

“For sure I am going to try and play even better than last season,” Caicedo was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official club website. “I have hunger for more. I have always said I don’t have limits; the sky is the limit. I am going to work hard to keep achieving a lot of things for this amazing club.

“I just want to start the season really well. For sure, it will be an incredible and tough season also, because we know the Premier League is always tough, but we are going to do well.”

Despite having to break the bank to sign him, Chelsea will be delighted that they signed Caicedo from Brighton, who could now lose Carlos Baleba.

Manchester United are thought to be interested in Baleba, who has played down comparisons with Caicedo in the past.

What Moises Caicedo is really looking forward to this season

Caicedo is set to relish every moment in the Champions League after qualifying for the competition at the end of the last campaign.

“It’s a dream come true and I am looking forward to it,” the Ecuador international said. “It’s an amazing feeling when you are watching on TV. You can feel it is different. Everybody in the whole world is watching you. It’s another level, and now we are there, we want to do really well.”

No one will be expecting Enzo Maresca‘s men to win the Champions League, but that was also the case with the Club World Cup trophy, which they managed to get their hands on.

It is a different tournament, though, with even stronger teams. The aim will probably be to just go on a good run in the competition, which this Chelsea side look more than capable of doing.

And it is a Chelsea side that could get even better if deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are eventually finalised.
