There seems to be a lot of hype around the Texas Longhorns entering the 2025 college football season. Texas is the number one ranked team in the country.

A lot of people think that they are the number one team in the nation because of quarterback Arch Manning. To go along with the potential of Manning, Texas also has one of the deepest rosters in all of college football. He started in a couple of games last season because of some injuries to Quinn Ewers, but Manning is getting those starts full-time now for this football program.
College Football Analyst Questions What the Future For Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning Will Be After 2025 Season

Nick Bromberg of Yahoo Sports wrote about the 10 biggest storylines for the upcoming 2025 college football season. There is no doubt that there is a lot of buzz around Manning and the Longhorns. Many are wondering how well he will perform and if he has the chance to be the number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Well, Bromberg thinks the biggest question program will be what is the future of Manning with the program after the season? He said,
“Archie Manning’s comments to Texas Monthly aren’t going to totally quell speculation about Arch Manning’s 2026 plans.
The former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints QB said that his grandson will stay at Texas for the 2026 season. The redshirt sophomore is entering his first season as the full-time starter for the Longhorns and is the preseason Heisman favorite despite throwing fewer than 100 career passes.
If Manning stars and the Longhorns win the SEC, the draft chatter is only going to intensify until the early-entry deadline even if Manning is fully committed to staying in Austin.”
There is a chance that Manning is going to stay in college even if they were to win the national title this upcoming season. During the 2024 season with Texas, he completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. Manning also had a couple of rushing touchdowns last season for the Longhorns.
There is a very good chance that he is going to be in Heisman Trophy talks in 2025 if he has a great performance. There are a lot of talented quarterbacks potentially getting drafted in 2026. If he decides to not declare, there is a chance Manning will also be one of the top quarterbacks potentially in the 2027 NFL Draft class.
