“Everybody’s Ready For Us To Make Some Noise”: Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Kyler Murray Makes …

The Arizona Cardinals did not make the playoffs last season, but they showed signs of progress under head coach Jonathan Gannon. As they enter Gannon’s third season as head coach, there are people who think that Arizona could potentially be a sleeper in the NFC.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (1) runs in the backfield prior to a preseason game against the Chiefs at State Farm Stadium on Aug. 9, 2025, in Glendale.

The Cardinals have made the playoffs once before in the Kyler Murray era, but the last time they made the postseason was in 2021 when they were the fifth seed in the NFC. Murray and other people believe that it is time for Arizona to get back to the playoffs after not making it over the last few years. It will be interesting to see what will happen with this football team in 2025.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (1) warms up before their preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium on Aug. 9, 2025.

Cardinals quarterback spoke to reporters about the potential expectations for this football team entering the 2025 NFL season. After finishing with an 8-9 record in 2024, Arizona is looking to make it to the playoffs this season. Murray said to Eric Williams of foxsports.com,

“This city, this team, this organization, everybody’s ready for us to make some noise and finally take the next step.”

With the injury news to Matthew Stafford right now for the Los Angeles Rams, it could potentially open the door for Arizona to win the NFC West during the 2025 season. If Stafford does not play, Murray could very well be the best quarterback in the NFC West division in 2025. During the 2024 season, he completed 68.8% of his passes for 3,851 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Murray also rushed for 572 yards on 78 carries and five touchdowns, along with averaging 7.3 yards per carry. The Cardinals offense could be electric in 2025 because of wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. having another season under his belt. Murray needs to feed him the ball more often this season. Arizona also fixed its defense during the offseason as well.

What this franchise can not do is take a step backward. If Arizona is not in contention for a playoff spot late in the season, there will be questions about what they should do with Murray at quarterback after the 2025 NFL season ends.
