Hornets release full preseason schedule: When will Charlotte’s rookies make debut?

The Charlotte Hornets’ second training camp under coach Charles Lee will have a little Lowcountry flavor mixed in.

With Spectrum Center still wrapping up Phase II of its renovation, the Hornets are playing both of their 2025-26 preseason home games outside of the Charlotte market, the first taking place in Charleston, S.C.

The Hornets’ preseason opener is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Oct. 5, against reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City at the North Charleston Coliseum That precedes a date with the Memphis Grizzlies at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15. Fans can purchase tickets at hornets.com, ticketmaster.com, northcharlestoncoliseumpac.comand gsocomplex.com.

Charlotte’s full five-game preseason schedule includes road matchups in Oklahoma City (Oct. 9), Dallas (Oct. 11) and New York against the Knicks (Oct. 17). The NBA is unveiling the NBA Cup schedule on Wednesday and releasing the entire 2025-26 regular-season schedule on Thursday.

Beaming with optimism after winning the Las Vegas Summer League championship in July, the Hornets are taking their early preseason preparation on the road, setting up in Charleston at The Citadel, league sources told The Observer. It will mark the first time the Hornets will their preseason tuneup in South Carolina.

Oct. 15: vs. Memphis (First Horizon Coliseum, Greensboro), 7 p.m.

Oct. 17: at New York (Madison Square Garden), 7:30 p.m.
