Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur fans will be keenly awaiting Savinho’s decision about his future.
As things stand, Savinho is open to joining Tottenham and becoming the first transfer between both clubs since Kyle Walker in 2017.
However, the 21-year-old’s future is yet to be finalised.
With Oscar Bobb choosing to stay at Manchester City and Phil Foden also capable of playing on the right flank, the former Troyes winger would certainly have to fight to cement a starting berth at the Etihad Stadium.
Savinho should stay at Man City just like Heung-min Son after initially deciding Tottenham exit
As far as Savinho’s decision to potentially leave City to sign for Tottenham or any other club for that matter is concerned, he should follow in Heung-min Son’s footsteps, who admitted he almost left Spurs after his first season but ended up staying.

Son gone on to cement his status as a Tottenham legend, as he recalled his decision to leave while speaking to Standard Sport in 2019: “I came close to leaving. I went to the gaffer’s office and told him I didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to leave for Germany.”

“The gaffer trusted me and I am so grateful. He made my dream come true. I am more than grateful [to him] — it is difficult to say. I have worked four years with the gaffer. It is just amazing.”
While Savinho believes Tottenham can offer him regular minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, he has played quite a lot of football for a youngster in his debut season at an elite club like Manchester City; far more than a Premier League icon like Son in his first season.

SAVINHO AT MAN CITY 33
Making 31 starts in all competitions in comparison to the South Korean’s tally, Pep Guardiola clearly trusts Savinho — who has impressed for the most part as well.
Furthermore, unlike Tottenham, who have only won two major trophies in the past 17 years, Manchester City can allow the Brazilian to become a serial winner — having been English football’s dominant force since their takeover in 2008.
With Savinho admitting to enjoying his football under Guardiola and witnessing wingers such as Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez reaching the next level in their second seasons under him, the highly-rated wideman should give his Manchester City career another chance.
Man City could still keep Savinho on one condition
However, the decision lies in the highly-rated wonderkid’s hands whether he is willing to fight for his place.
The Sao Mateus-born wideman’s teammate Jeremy Doku continues to do so heading into his third season as a City player, despite Omar Marmoush’s presence.
However, Manchester City could keep Savinho and reject Tottenham’s interest if they refuse to pay a fee in excess of £50 million for him.
Spurs have already launched a bid worth £43 million for the player, which was rejected by the Sky Blues.
