Manchester City could suddenly sign two superstars out of the blue.

Graeme Bailey has informed Manchester City News that Rodrygo is very keen to work with Pep Guardiola as the Brazil international prepares to be sold by Real Madrid this summer.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could also make a move to the Etihad Stadium from PSG – and the Italy international has just bid farewell to the Parisians after being dropped by Luis Enrique.

Gianluigi Donnarumma issues clear statement on PSG future

The PSG No.1 looks to have played his final game for the French giants.

RMC Sport claimed earlier on Tuesday that Manchester City had opened talks to sign Donnarumma as Ederson could make a move to Galatasaray, with PSG open to selling the Italian before losing him for nothing when his deal expires next summer.

PSG have been unable to agree a new deal with the man from Castellammare di Stabia due to salary disagreements.

Now, the 26-year-old has said goodbye to PSG after being dropped for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham, following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier from Lille.

Donnarumma wrote in an lengthy official statement: “To the special Paris fans. From the first day I arrived, I gave everything – on and off the pitch – to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain.

“Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened.

I hope to have the opportunity to look the fans at the Parc des Princes in the eyes one more time and say goodbye as it should be done. If that doesn’t happen, I want you to know that your support and affection mean the world to me, and I will never forget it. I will always carry with me the memory of all the emotions, the magical nights, and of you, who made me feel at home.

To my teammates – my second family – thank you for every battle, every laugh, every moment we shared. You will always be my brothers. Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour. Thank you, Paris.”

What Luis Enrique has said about Gianluigi Donnarumma

Donnarumma cryptically mentions “someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group” – although comments from Luis Enrique make it clear the Spaniard has made the call.

The PSG boss said: “Donnarumma is out of the squad as it’s my own decision. I am 100% responsible. I want a different kind of goalkeeper and I made this decision. Gigio is one of the best goalkeepers in the whole world.”

What Pep Guardiola said about Gianluigi Donnarumma in 2017

The 54-year-old eulogised over the Italian way back in 2017 while he was still developing at AC Milan.

Guardiola heaped praise on Donnarumma when he was just 18 years of age, saying: “Donnarumma is a top, top goalkeeper, definitely. He’s big. He has huge skill for 18 years old.

“It would depend on him and his teammates whether he played well (in the Premier League) or not but good players can play anywhere.”

Guardiola could soon manage Donnarumma for the first time in his career, if Ederson seals a move to Galatasaray first.
