Aune Heggebø joined West Bromwich Albion this season from Brann, brought in to strengthen their bid for promotion to the Premier League. His arrival was seen as an exciting addition for the Championship side, with the club seeking a reliable goalscorer to elevate their performances and improve their attacking threat.
He made his first competitive start for the Baggies at the weekend in their match against Blackburn, marking the occasion with an assist. Despite not finding the back of the net himself, Heggebø impressed throughout, causing significant problems for the opposition defence and showcasing the qualities that earned him the move to England.
A Strong Start in the Championship
His display against Blackburn demonstrated that he is more than capable of making an impact at this level. The assist he provided was a highlight of his performance, underlining his ability to contribute creatively as well as through his work rate. West Brom will be hoping that this is just the beginning of a productive spell for the forward, as they aim to challenge for promotion.
Beyond his on-pitch efforts, Heggebø’s move to England has brought pride and excitement to his family. They have embraced his new chapter, offering their full support and even showing an interest in becoming part of the club’s fanbase.
Family Support from Home
As reported by Express and Star, the striker revealed that his father is considering committing to follow West Brom closely from the stands. He said, “I’ve had a lot of people say they want to come. For example, my Dad was wondering if maybe he should get a season ticket because he wants one, he likes to watch every game I play and also English football in general. My family has been over already, so there has been a lot of supporter from home and it’s a nice group to come into here at Albion.”
The combination of early promise on the field and strong backing off it could provide the perfect platform for Heggebø to thrive in his first season in England. If he continues to build on performances like his debut start, he could quickly establish himself as a key figure in West Brom’s campaign.
