Man United plot loan move for Champions League winner

Manchester United welcome rivals Arsenal to Old Trafford for their first game of the new Premier League season on Sunday.

The Red Devils finished 15th in the top flight last term after a disastrous campaign, and head coach Ruben Amorim finds himself under pressure to turn his side’s fortunes around just nine months after taking charge.

After the visit of the Gunners, United travel to London to face Fulham in their first away game of the new season.

Sunday’s match could see Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo all make their competitive debuts for United, who have had a busy summer in the transfer market.

Now, it has emerged that United are eyeing an audacious move for one of Europe’s best goalkeepers.

According to GiveMeSport, the Manchester club are considering a loan move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The report claims that the Italian faces an uncertain future in the French capital after being snubbed by manager Luis Enrique.

Donnarumma played an integral role for PSG as they won the Champions League, Ligue 1 and French cup last term, but they have since signed Lucas Chevalier who is set to be first choice ‘keeper.

The Italy international is in the final year of his current contract, and the report claims that the French champions are intent on moving the player on.

Donnarumma joined PSG from boyhood club AC Milan in 2021 and has since played more than 160 times for the club across all competitions.

It is claimed that United are aware of the player’s situation and could look to sign the Italy international on loan for the upcoming campaign.

United’s current goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has struggled ever since arriving in Manchester, and the report claims that those in charge of the club are therefore on the hunt for reinforcements in that particular position.
