Former Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. addressed rumors he plans to retire from the NFL.
Former New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made the plans for his football future perfectly clear Tuesday amid swirling retirement rumors.
Hours after a fake social media account posing as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the 32-year-old wide receiver is retiring, Beckham set the record straight.
“After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire. Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced Tuesday,” the fake Schefter account posted.
Beckham Jr. responded that he is “Not done yet… thanks for hr concerns and have a blessed day.”
The former Giants star and three-time Pro Bowler remains a free agent, after appearing in nine games for the Miami Dolphins last season, catching nine passes for 55 yards.
It sounds like Beckham Jr. still hopes to latch on with a team and play in 2025, though his days as a top of the depth chart receiver are likely in the rearview mirror.
Through his first 10 seasons since being chosen by the Giants with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham has caught 575 passes for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns.
Where Beckham’s next reception come remains to be seen, but he doesn’t sound ready to ride off into the sunset just yet.

The heralded matchup of Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers vs. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner will have to wait.
Ahead of the first of two joint practices with Jets, Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed that Nabers won’t be participating this week as the team continues to work him back slowly from a nagging toe issue.
Meanwhile, Nabers also suffered a shoulder injury forcing him to leave practice early during a training camp practice last month.
Daboll and the Giants have limited Nabers’ practice time since the injury, and the former first-round draft choice out of LSU did not play in the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills ahead of spending Tuesday’s practice rehabbing.
Nabers caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games as a rookie, and the Giants are clearly hoping that he is fully healthy by Week 1.
