Vikings roster moves: Rondale Moore out for season with knee injury, Brian Asamoah waived

The Minnesota Vikings made a few roster moves in between their first and second preseason games.

The biggest news comes as a blow to the receiving corps with Rondale Moore being placed on Injured Reserve with a season-ending knee injury. Moore, who came over to the Vikings this offseason, suffered the injury while returning a punt during the team’s first preseason game against the Houston Texans.

Moore was drafted out of Purdue by the Arizona Cardinals, where he spent the first three years of his career and totaled 135 catches, 1,201 yards and three touchdowns. This will be the second year in a row that Moore will miss the entire season, after he suffered a knee injury while with the Atlanta Falcons during a joint training camp practice.

The Vikings also announced they have waived linebacker Brian Asamoah II.

In 46 games with the Vikings, the third-round pick out of Oklahoma totaled 30 tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

The final move made by the team on Tuesday was waiving center Zeke Correll with an injury designation.

Correll was an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State and played 12 snaps in the preseason game against the Texans before suffering a fractured ankle.

The Vikings will take on the New England Patriots in their next preseason game on Saturday at 12 p.m.
