Inter Milan could scupper Roma’s interest in Man Utd star with ‘possible move,’ attacking talent is ‘Plan B’ option

Inter Milan could rival Roma and another major Serie A club in the race to sign one Manchester United player this summer, according to stunning reports in Italy.

Ruben Amorim has been undergoing a summer clearout of the Manchester United first-team squad ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.

The summer transfer window will close on 1st September and United still have several first-team players who they are willing to sell if the right offer is made.

Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho all face the chopping block at the club after falling out of favour under United manager Ruben Amorim.

Meanwhile, the likes of Rasmus Hojlund face growing uncertainty around their future, with the struggling United striker receiving interest from Serie A clubs.

Inter Milan have a transfer interest in Jadon Sancho amid the Man Utd winger being linked with Roma and Juventus

Jadon Sancho’s permanent transfer to Chelsea collapsed this summer and the former Blues star has been on the hunt for a new club after his return to Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old Manchester United winger spent the entirety of the 2024-25 Premier League season on loan at Chelsea and Sancho has recently been linked with Roma.

Sancho has also attracted interest from Juventus this summer, but the Serie A club have not made a formal move for the out-of-favour Red Devils attacker so far.

According to Football Italia, Inter Milan are still monitoring Sancho’s situation at Old Trafford and they could try to beat Roma and Juventus in the race to sign him.

The Italian news outlet reported that an ‘agent’ close to United and Inter has suggested that there have been ‘meetings’ over Sancho’s salary and a transfer fee.

Why have Inter Milan not made a move for Jadon Sancho, despite the Champions League finalists’ transfer interest in the Man Utd star?

Inter have been linked with Ademola Lookman and the 27-year-old Atalanta forward has been viewed as a ‘Plan A’ option for the 2025 Champions League finalists.

Ademola Lookman handed in a transfer request and is pushing to leave Atalanta, but the Serie A club have no desire to offload him to a fellow Italian team this summer.

Football Italia claims that Sancho is seen as a ‘back-up option’ for the 2024-25 Serie A runners-up if Inter fail in their pursuit of signing wantaway Atalanta ace Lookman.

United are reportedly willing to sell Sancho for as little as £22m this summer after the former Borussia Dortmund ace’s permanent transfer to Chelsea fell apart.
