Arsenal remain active in the transfer market for attacking reinforcements despite already spending close to £200 million this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side have bolstered their front line with the arrival of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, alongside winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea. However, many pundits believe the Gunners still need another forward, ideally a natural left winger to strengthen their Premier League title push.
Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, but doubts persist over whether he is the right fit for Arsenal’s left flank.
Seen more as a creative midfielder, Eze is considered better suited to the left No.8 role currently held by Declan Rice or as an alternative to captain Martin Odegaard.

Other high-profile names such as Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao have also been linked. Both are regarded as versatile, top-level forwards who could slot seamlessly into Arteta’s system.
While interest in Rodrygo has cooled in recent weeks, Eze’s future has taken a twist, reports suggest the England international is now open to joining Arsenal’s north London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are reportedly ready to table an offer in the region of £60 million, with manager Thomas Frank said to be leading the pursuit. The club have already contacted Crystal Palace to clarify the terms of any release clause as they look to reinforce their attack following James Maddison’s injury and Heung-min Son’s departure.
Since joining Palace in 2020, Eze has scored 40 goals and registered 28 assists in 168 appearances. He recently added the Community Shield to the club’s FA Cup triumph, playing a key role in Sunday’s win over Liverpool at Wembley.

Speaking after the match, Palace chairman Steve Parish admitted no player is unsellable.
“I think in the end, people trade players. That’s what football clubs do,” Parish toldESPN. “If you just don’t care about reinvigorating the team, you don’t care about tomorrow… unfortunately it’s not always as simple as that.”
Meanwhile, former Spurs manager Alan Pardew has urged Eze to reject Arsenal in favour of joining Tottenham.

Speaking ontalkSPORT, Pardew said: “If Arsenal get the right number nine, they’ve got a great chance of winning the league. Would Eze take them nearer to that title? Possibly, but I think they already have enough quality. So therefore, I have answered your question.”
With less than three weeks until the transfer window closes, Arsenal’s search for one final attacking addition could yet be shaped by developments in north London’s latest transfer battle.
