Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave the Emirates Stadium before the August 30 transfer deadline, though the Ukraine international is reportedly considering running down his contract to depart as a free agent in 2026.
According toThe Athletic, the 28-year-old’s role has diminished under Mikel Arteta, prompting uncertainty over his future.
Zinchenko joined from Manchester City in 2022 for £30 million but started just five Premier League matches last season, falling behind Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber, and academy product Myles Lewis-Skelly in the pecking order.

With his deal expiring in June 2026, Zinchenko holds a strong negotiating position if he stays, but Arsenal would prefer to cash in now to avoid losing him for free. The Gunners have reportedly lowered their asking price to around £13 million, well below his €20 million market valuation, as they seek to offload fringe players and raise funds for reinforcements.

Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, are believed to be leading the race. Sporting director Devin Ozek has met with Zinchenko and Arsenal officials in England, with the Turkish club viewing him as a midfield reinforcement for their title push. Fulham and AC Milan have also shown interest, while Galatasaray were linked in January.
Zinchenko enjoyed a strong debut season at Arsenal, helping them push for the Premier League title, but injuries and tactical changes have limited his impact.
His potential departure comes as Arsenal work to balance a summer spending spree, nearly £200 million on signings including Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi with sales. Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Leandro Trossard, and Jakub Kiwior are also among those linked with exits.
