Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is talking a fair amount about the Super Bowl this summer.
And that didn’t change on Tuesday when Kay Adams of the “Up & Adams” Show visited Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit.
Adams asked Payton about his comments to Yahoo! Sports and others. Specifically, feeling like his Denver team is good enough to win a championship this season.
His whole answer is worth listening to, but Payton really dives into things shortly after the 1:40 mark.
For HC Sean Payton, confidence in the Broncos comes from a stronger defense, trust in his QB, and no fear talking Super Bowl 🏆

“That first team meeting was hey, I don’t want to be uncomfortable or phased at all by discussing what it’s like to play in a Super Bowl. What it’s like to win a division,” Sean Payton told Adams.
The former Saints head coach won a title with New Orleans following the 2009 NFL season, a victory over Peyton Manning and the Colts.
Still, the Chiefs have taken the AFC West nine years in a row, so Payton is giving them their due and rightfully so.
“And make no mistake, with all due respect, what Kansas City’s been able to accomplish has been remarkable. So, there’s a tremendous amount of respect there for their run,” Payton said.
Even with K.C. and the Los Angeles Chargers in the way, Sean Payton has three clear objectives for the 2025 Broncos.
“I’ve always in this league thought of the three goals as win your division, best seeding possible, win a Super Bowl,” Payton said.
And after a 1-5 start in 2023, Payton’s first year in Denver, plus an 0-2 beginning a season ago, he knows it’s imperative the Broncos come out of the gates quickly.
“I would say for us, more specifically, is starting fast this year. We didn’t back two years ago, a year ago we started 0-2 and then bounced back. But us starting fast at home and not putting ourselves in a hole where maybe Week 16 could be played for something differently than it should be because of your start,” Payton said.
Payton likely means Week 17, when Denver plays Kansas City on Christmas night, but the point still stands. He’s hoping that game is for the AFC West crown. The Broncos can’t stumble early against the Titans or Colts, two teams they should beat.
So, there you have it. Sean Payton, again, isn’t shying away from Super Bowl talk. It’s very clear he thinks that’s a realistic goal for his squad over the next six months.
