Barcelona are weighing a loan move for Héctor Fort, with Mallorca emerging as the frontrunner to secure the 18-year-old’s signature. Fort impressed in the youth setup but has struggled for minutes in the first team, sitting behind Jules Koundé and Eric García in Hansi Flick’s plans.
The Catalan club see Fort as a long-term asset and are only open to a temporary departure, aiming to give him the playing time he won’t get at the Camp Nou this season. Mallorca’s expected sale of Pablo Maffeo has created an opening, and coach Jagoba Arrasate views Fort as an ideal fit.
The two clubs already have strong ties, having completed the summer transfer of Pablo Torre and held talks over winger Jan Virgili. While negotiations are unlikely to accelerate until later in the window, both sides are optimistic. If agreed, Fort could face Barcelona in the season’s La Liga opener at Son Moix.
