Alexander Isak told to ‘sack his agent’ amid Newcastle United and Liverpool saga

Former Sunderland and Liverpool man Don Hutchison has weighed in on the ongoing saga involving Alexander Isak and Newcastle United.

Having just made history with the Magpies in the months prior, Alexander Isak dropped a bombshell as reports confirmed he is exploring his options away from Newcastle United this summer.

The 25-year-old scored 23 Premier League goals last season, the highest of any Newcastle player by a good margin, but it looks like he could have scored his final goal for the Magpies, as he remains adamant that a move away is the best for him.

Reports on Tuesday stated that Isak told Eddie Howe he wanted to leave in May, two weeks before the Premier League season had finished and in the latter stages of an important Champions League battle. The ongoing saga has been incredibly frustrating and has overshadowed everything he has achieved since joining Newcastle in 2022.

Isak is training on his own, and Howe has stated that he does not expect him to be a part of Newcastle’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa. With the saga showing no sign of ending, former Sunderland man Don Hutchison has told Isak what to do to give himself more credibility.

Don Hutchison tells Alexander Isak to sack his agent amid Newcastle United saga

Very few could have predicted how this transfer saga has played out between Isak and Newcastle. Liverpool are seriously interested in the Swede, who appears to be doing everything in his power to get his move.

His stance will not be fully led by himself, however, with his agent surely keen on getting a sizeable fee if a deal comes to fruition. This has been noticed by many Newcastle fans, and even Hutchison, who has given Isak some sound advice.

“If I was (Alexander) Isak, I would sack my agent on the spot today,” he wrote.

“Footballers, even though they have a say and an opinion, generally take the advice from your agent. The agent has handled this saga incredibly bad.

“The agent is hanging his player out to dry for the money….”

Isak still has three years on his contract, so he will be waiting a long time if Newcastle still stand firm and refuse to sell him for anything less than £150million.

Alexander Isak has lost the respect of many amid Newcastle United transfer stance

Fans have made it clear to Isak that they do not even want to see him play in the black and white stripes anymore. The striker will have to make a big impact if he is to win the trust of the fans back, with his reputation in tatters due to the saga.

However, it is not only the fans who are losing respect for Isak; many pundits are too.

Ally McCoist says Isak has ‘let down’ Howe, a statement which Gabby Agbonlahor completely agreed with.

Elsewhere, Alan Shearer referred to the Isak situation as ‘nonsense‘, though he was taking more of an aim towards Newcastle’s hierarchy, who are yet to find replacements for Paul Mitchell and Darren Eales.

Fans are not angry at Isak for what he is doing; they are just disappointed at someone who was set to become a legend on Tyneside.
