Milwaukee Bucks big man Bobby Portis is regarded as the unofficial mayor of the city with his energetic ways. He is also called the people’s champ. This is why it is only right that the team extended him.

Portis will stay for three more years with the team after arriving there in 2020. He signed a $44 million deal and according to general manager Jon Horst, he will have a bigger role in the new season.
The veteran forward got the deal he said he wanted during the summer but there’s something he said is bigger than this money.
Portis has partnered with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to provide relief to the victims of the recent flooding that struck the city. He has been with the organization since 2021.
“It was bigger than just my contract with the Bucks,” he said via Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Milwaukee City
Milwaukee, Waukesha and other cities in Wisconsin were hit by heavy rain that flooded streets and broke through a stadium roof.
“I’ve always had dreams of giving back and spreading my blessings with others and I say it all the time, but I really live that. It’s been a great partnership through and through. We’ve done a ton of great things together and I’m excited for our future.”
Bobby Portis declares love for Milwaukee City
Portis hails from Arkansas but he has grown to love Milwaukee and the city is also returning the love.
In a recent interview, he said that he signed an extension because he thought that him and the Bucks are a match made in heaven.
This is among the reasons why he is participating in outreach programs like Feeding America. He said he almost feels like he is a Milwaukee native now.

“I really rock with Milwaukee, though. Ain’t many players can say they really rock with Milwaukee. You come here, people may not like it, but I really rock with the city,” he shared,
“I’m really in the city, giving back, putting my all into the kids and the community. I really care. Not many people care more than I do. Not just with basketball, but for others that don’t play the game, that’s not fortunate to come to the game, we do a lot of things that help impact lives. It’s bigger than hoops. It’s bigger than sports.”
