Celtic urged to ignore Daizen Maeda offers
Daizen Maeda has two years left on his contract and last season was the best of his career.
He wouldn’t be easy to replace at any stage of the transfer window but with Brentford sniffing around Maeda, concerns have crept in.
The departure of Nicolas Kuhn has left a shortage of attackers and the Hoops have been told that they shouldn’t even accept £20m for Maeda.
Michael Gannon told Daily Record hotline: “If there is a transfer request, you take it out of the fax machine, grab it and put it in the bin. At this point in time, this guy is absolutely unsellable.
“If a bid came in for Daizen Maeda at this point it’s got to be astronomical, £20m plus.”
Clement Bischoff told to join Celtic
It’s the worst kept secret that Celtic are on the hunt for a winger or two in the transfer market.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
Bids for Jakob Breum have been knocked back and although there is still time to get bodies through the door, there’s an urgency to get it done as quickly as possible.
Clement Bischoff of Brondby could be the answer to that although reports have suggested that Sunderland are the side in competition for the 19-year-old’s signature.
Despite that, Richard Foster has urged Bischoff to snub the Premier League side for Celtic.
He said: “In my mind, there isn’t even a question there. Even if Sunderland are offering twice the money, I think the winger should go to Celtic, if that’s his choice.”
Celtic learn Andy Irving price tag
The centre of midfield looks well stocked at Celtic right now but there will always be an appetite for players that are going to improve the squad.
Not only does Andy Irving qualify for the homegrown quota, he has also significantly improved since leaving Hearts in 2021.
Irving is known as the ‘Portobello Pirlo’ and the chance to return north of the border is looking likely given that he seemingly doesn’t fit into the Hoops’ plans.
A bid of £3.5m would reportedly be enough for West Ham to sell but some Hammers fans don’t want Irving to leave.
