Before Arsenal look to sign Eberechi Eze, Rodrygo or even a different forward to complete their attack, sporting director Andrea Berta will be looking to sell players.
Arsenal aren’t thought to be struggling in terms of PSR by any means, but Mikel Arteta simply has a bloated squad in areas.
Take Arsenal’s left-back situation for example – Arsenal have both Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori competing for a starting role, and then there’s still Oleksandr Zinchenko in reserve.
Zinchenko’s future could be an issue for Arsenal, and it’s not just in defence where Berta might make sales – the Gunners are also set to offload a forward prior to signing a replacement.
Leandro Trossard set to leave Arsenal after making his feelings clear
That being said, TBR Football previously revealed that Leandro Trossard wants to leave Arsenal – the Belgian forward wanted to explore the options available this summer.
Leandro Trossard made more appearances than any other Arsenal player last season, but following Noni Madueke’s arrival from Chelsea, those chances might be reduced.

And on the back of Trossard’s preference to go, BBC Sport are now reporting that the 30-year-old is ‘set to leave’ the Emirates Stadium.
Journalist Sami Mokbel has claimed that Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira are also about to find new clubs – two more attackers on the periphery of Arsenal’s plans.
Arteta was very excited to sign Vieira back in 2022 – he was a player that looked to have a big future in N5 at the time.
But along with Nelson, Arteta simply hasn’t been able to afford the Portuguese playmaker adequate chances, and perhaps that reflects on the level now required at the club.
Martin Odegaard has been impressed by Leandro Trossard at Arsenal
In terms of Trossard, Arsenal will be saying goodbye to a first-team regular, a player who has scored some crucial goals for the club.
Captain Martin Odegaard previously called Trossard a ‘baller’, and in 50 games last season, the winger did contribute 10 goals and 10 assists.
And whilst Gabriel Martinelli was linked with an Arsenal exit too, it seems as if his older counterpart will be the one to make way for a new signing.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is willing to join Arsenal amid interest from Manchester City too, and it remains to be seen where the Brazilian will be playing his football next season.
But if Trossard’s departure leads to someone like Rodrygo, Eze or even AC Milan’s Rafael Leao arriving at the Emirates, there will probably be very few complaints.
