Eberechi Eze, Alexander Isak and Carlos Baleba

Targets: Eberechi Eze, Carlos Baleba and Alexander Isak

With the new Premier League season just two days away, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all working hard on deals before the big kick-off. The Gunners have been interested in Eberechi Eze all summer, but Tottenham have swooped in to begin talks with Crystal Palace over a deal which could cost £68million. Savinho is also wanted by Spurs in what could be a similar fee.

Liverpool have been further emboldened in their pursuit of Alexander Isak, with the striker vowing to never play for Newcastle again and even going as ever as putting his house in the city on the market. The Reds are also in talks with Palace, with Marc Guehi their target to strengthen at centre-back amid rival interest in Giovanni Leoni. Gianluigi Donnarumma has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Manchester United have spent heavily on their forward line and are now concentrating on midfield as they prepare a second bid for Brighton's Carlos Baleba, who has given a green light to make the move to Old Trafford. Chelsea's pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho could boost United's coffers, while the Blues remain interested in Xavi Simons. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours live below!

Manchester United are set to make a second bid for Carlos Baleba this week after making the Brighton midfielder their next key transfer target.

Amid ongoing concerns over Casemiro's declining powers and the inconsistent performances of Manuel Ugarte, United have turned to 21-year-old Baleba as the answer to revitalise their midfield.

It has been reported that a first bid for Baleba has been rejected, in which United tried to include Toby Collyer in part-exchange. Brighton have little interest in selling and have put a £105million price tag on the player's head.

United are not giving up, though. Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that new talks are expected between the two clubs over the coming days and, crucially, Baleba wants to make the move.

Alexander Isak has reportedly vacated his Newcastle home as he looks to force a move to Liverpool.

The Times reports that the property in the North East that Isak has lived in for three years - since his arrival on Tyneside in 2022 - was put on the rental market the day after the Swedish striker was omitted from the Magpies’ players and families day.

The 25-year-old is said to have been the only member of Newcastle’s first-team squad not allowed at the bonding day held at the club’s training ground last week.

The owner of the Ponteland property is now believed to be seeking new tenants, having first put the home on the market late last month when Isak flew to Spain for personal training rather than joining Newcastle’s pre-season trip to Asia.

It was advertised for £6,950 a month the day Isak left for Spain, The Times reports, before being quickly taken off the market before he returned to Newcastle.

But the property, said to be empty once more after Isak moved out, is reportedly now back on the market again with a local rental company.

Arsenal remain interested in Ebeerechi Eze this summer, but need to ship out some players before another arrives.

Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson, who also spent last season out on loan, can leave this summer if suitable offers arrive.

Leandro Trossard has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce and Arsenal might be tempted to cash in on a player that will turn 31 years old in December.

Karl Hein spent last season on loan at La Liga side Real Valladolid and it is unlikely he will want to be third-choice for Arsenal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is another player who could depart Emirates Stadium. He has just one year left on his contract and is not in talks over fresh terms.

Clubs in Italy hold a long-term interest in Jakub Kiwior and it remains to be seen how strong Arsenal’s resolve would be if a sizeable bid came in for the defender.

Newcastle have announced their squad numbers for the new season and striker Alexander Isak will continue to wear No14 despite ongoing uncertainty over his future.

In a fresh twist regarding the ongoing transfer saga, the Athletic reported that Isak is said to be adamant he will never play for the club again amid continued interest from Liverpool.

Furthermore, the report claims even if the Sweden international does not get his move to Anfield before the transfer deadline, he believes his career at St James’ Park is “finished” as he holds “no desire” to reintegrate into the squad.

However, when Newcastle published their squad list for the new campaign on Tuesday, Isak’s name appeared alongside the No14 shirt he has worn since his £63million switch from Real Sociedad three summers ago.
