What one football director loves about‘perfect’ Chelsea player with deadline day deal possible - journalist

There have been several exits at Chelsea recently and more are expected between now and the end of the transfer window.

Last week, Chelsea sold Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu to Burnley, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall joined Everton.

Cole Palmer was sad to see Dewsbury-Hall go, and the attacking midfielder could be set to say goodbye to another one of his teammates very soon.

More arrivals are also expected before the transfer market closes, however, with Chelsea still targeting RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

Bayern Munich director Max Eberl loves Christopher Nkunku’s versatility

Christopher Nkunku could be the next player who leaves Stamford Bridge, as Bayern Munich are still interested in signing the forward.

Bayern wanted to bring in Nkunku during the January transfer window, and the 27-year-old still appears to be on their radar.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern’s director of sport Max Eberl “loves” Nkunku’s versatility and the German giants could pursue the Frenchman all the way to deadline day.

🚨🔴 Understand that a deal for Christopher #Nkunku and FC Bayern until Deadline Day is possible, as revealed on our show yesterday.

Much now depends on whether Bayern re-enter the race for Nick Woltemade.

Nkunku can play in multiple positions across the frontline, including up front and behind the striker, and is a proven goalscorer in Germany. It makes him an attractive option for any side in the Bundesliga.

With a transfer possible, Nkunku was absent from Chelsea’s pre-season training. Overall, the Blues had a very good pre-season, albeit a short one. They beat AC Milan 4-1 after defeating Bayern’s German rivals Bayer Leverkusen 2-0.

Christopher Nkunku’s stance on joining Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig

Bayern are not the only Bundesliga club who are interested in signing Nkunku this month. The France international’s former side Leipzig are also keen on him.

However, as per BBC Sport, Nkunku is reluctant to rejoin Ole Werner’s team because of their lack of Champions League football.

In the past, Nkunku has been praised for his finishing and creativity. “He wasted little and had perfect vision [at youth level],” former Paris Saint-Germain defender Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan was quoted as saying by the Bundesliga’s official website.

At Chelsea, supporters have not always seen those things for various reasons, so now may be the time for a fresh start.
