Chelsea could raise another£45m from two player sales to the same club - journalist

Chelsea have already impressed greatly with their ability to sell players this summer, however they have now been linked with a deal that would be seen by many as their best yet.

In a summer where plenty of money has been spent again on the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap, they have needed to offset this by raising money too.

Deals for Joao Felix and Noni Madueke’s exits raised nearly £100m combined, while Djordje Petrovic, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Lesley Ugochukwu and Armando Broja have also added plenty of money to the club’s transfer kitty.

With reports that they are still keen to bring in the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, it looks as if the Blues are not done when it comes to making money.

Wolves make ‘formal approach’ for Chelsea’s Axel Disasi and David Datro Fofana

Axel Disasi is a player who clearly has no future at Stamford Bridge after spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Another individual who many may have forgotten about is David Datro Fofana. The striker has not featured in a competitive game for the club since May 2023.

Wolves have previously been linked with the Chelsea duo, and now journalist Sebastien Vidal has claimed that the Premier League side have made a ‘formal approach’ to sign them this summer.

He said: “Wolves have made a formal approach to sign Chelsea duo Axel Disasi & David Datro Fofana. Combined deal could reach £45m (£25–30m for Disasi, ~£15m for Fofana). Wolves want a new CB & striker after selling big this summer. Chelsea open to selling both.”

Enzo Maresca’s decision on Disasi and Fofana

After spells on loan at Union Berlin, Burnley and Goztepe, many had forgotten that the striker was part of the Chelsea squad again after his most recent loan to Turkey came to an end.

Reports had claimed that Maresca had sanctioned the sale of Fofana, and making £15m would somehow see the Blues make a profit on the signing.

As for Disasi, his lack of involvement in either pre-season game has made it clear that he is not being considered as a genuine option for the upcoming campaign.

This is despite the fact that Levi Colwill is set to miss the majority of the season through injury, however Disasi, and Renato Veiga, will not be considered as his replacement.
