Manchester City outcast Jack Grealish is on his way out at the Etihad Stadium this summer. A loan move to Everton is complete for the English forward subject to a medical.
Reliable sources at Sky Sports have reported that only a loan move is on the cards at the moment with Everton due to pick up the former Aston Villa man’s £300k per week wages. However there is an option to buy for the Toffees at £50million.
Grealish is among the highest-paid footballers in the Premier League hence City being keen to hopefully move him on permanently when the opportunity arises.
Manchester City gaffer Pep Guardiola has not been reassuring on Grealish’s future at the Etihad Stadium. With game time far and limited and a dwindling relationship with Guardiola, Jack’s days in the blue of Manchester could be numbered beyond this season unless he has an outstanding year on the Blue half of Merseyside.
The World Cup angle
Grealish struggled last season under Pep Guardiola for game time and made a solitary start in the Premier League across the duration of the entire season. Even during the Cityzens’ defeat in the FA Cup Final at the hands of Crystal Palace, Grealish was an unused substitute.
A move away from Manchester is the immediate solution to realign Grealish’ career with the attacker keeping an eye focussed on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Everton gaffer David Moyes, too, is extremely fond of the English international. Even referring to him as the ‘best player in the Premier League’.
Everton recently sealed the signature of Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a deal set to run for 5 years. With a move planned to the brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton seems well placed heading into the 2025/26 Premier League season.
